The main revenue of the laundromat is generated by customers that frequent the store and use our machines. The store is filled with (7) 18 lb Washers, (16) 30 lb Washers, (5) 40 lb Washers, (3) 60 lb Washers and (1) 80 lb washer. The pricing varies from $4.00/wash to $12.00/wash and most machines average approximately 3 turns per day. However, we have a number of additional revenue sources to improve the customer experience and supplement that revenue. Wash and Fold There is a full-time staff that run a Wash-and-Fold service at $1.25 per pound for a minimum of 15 pounds. This generates an additional $200/day on average in revenue for the business. Dry Cleaning We have partnered with a dry cleaning company that picks up dry cleaning from our business and typically returns it between 48-72 hours. They offer us competitive pricing and it allows us to serve the customers in the area. Delivery Services We now offer pick-up and delivery through a system that is set-up by our POS company called Trycents. They formed a partnership with doordash and uber that allows us to run a pick up and delivery business without owning a vehicle or employing a driver. This services is $1.99/lb. For right now, we are only averaging a couple of orders a month but this is a major growth area for our business. Vending Machine/Candy Machine We have a combo (drinks/snacks) vending machine that offers about 40 different options. It was purchased new from Sam’s club. In retrospect, I would have preferred to buy a used machine from Facebook marketplace or craigslist. We are still experimenting to determine which snacks and drinks are most popular. We also have a candy machine that offers gum balls and Mike and Ike's for 25 cents. For now, this adds an additional $250/month in revenue. There are vendors that install their vending machines in your store and split the revenue with if you aren’t interested in spending the capital to buy the vending machine. ATM We purchased an ATM so customers can access cash. We charge a convenience fee of $3.00 per transaction. The company that we bought the ATM from also offers an arrangement where they install the ATM and the laundromat owner splits revenue with them. Sales We sell detergents, fabric softener, dryer sheets, laundry bags and bleach to our customers. Outside of the store, customers have access to an EV Charger in the parking lot. This is a fairly new feature, so we haven’t generated revenue from it yet. Additionally, there is an LED sign in the front of the store that businesses can use to advertise their business but we are yet to have someone take advantage of that feature yet.
